Next October 30, the pediatric service of the MutuaTerrassa University Hospital (HUMT) will hold -in the auditorium of the teaching building- the fourteenth day of update in the pediatric area, this year under the title "the thousand days of gold lactating. "


The session will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the official inauguration, which will include Dr. Rosa Asbert, medical director of the Mútua Terrassa Health Care Service, Dr. Roger García, Head of Pediatrics at HUMT, Dr. Alicia Mirada and Dr. Marta Garcia, adjuncts of the same service and Mrs. Pilar Morales, supervisor of Nursing of the Mother and Child Area of ​​the Care Service Area of ​​MútuaTerrassa.

III Course of surgical exploration of the mediastinum

This course is especially addressed to thoracic surgeons in training (R4 and R5) and young adjuncts, who will be able to acquire knowledge in relation to the most relevant and novel aspects of the surgical exploration of the mediastinum for the staging of lung cancer.


The training will be taught in two days, structured in three sessions:

The Stroke will focus the next conference of the cycle "Dijous de Mutua"

Next Thursday, October 25, it will be the turn of the cycle "Dijous de Mútua" and in this case Dr. Sonia Huertas, Dr. Jéssica Molina and Dr. Sarah Besora, adjuncts to the Neurology service of HUMT, will deliver the conference "Ictus - we must act fast". As always, it will take place at 6pm in the Teaching Building.


The talk will be divided into 3 parts: what is stroke, the Stroke Code and primary and secondary prevention. The first part will address the definition, epidemiological data as well as a brief explanation of the anatomy of the brain, the transient ischemic attack and cerebral hemorrhage.


The second part will deal with the importance of "brain time" and an explanation of the multidisciplinary circuit will be carried out since 112/061 is called until it enters the patient. Finally, the last part will discuss healthy lifestyles, the importance of modifying cardiovascular risk factors as well as preventive treatment after a stroke.

The training session on grief and management of bad news will take place on October 22, at 3:00 p.m. This day is organized by the Oncology service of the MútuaTerrassas University Hospital and is especially aimed at all professionals in the health field.

II Cardiology Conference for Nursing

II Cardiology Conference for Nursing will take place next Thursday, October 18, at 8.45 am, is organized by the Nursing Directorate of the Service Assistance Field of MútuaTerrassa.

This year's conference is entitled Learning to educate patients with heart failure, will focus mainly on practical aspects that nursing can work with their patients.
