12/01/2017 - DEFENSE OF PHD THESIS “STAGING AND RESTAGING WITH MAXIMUM CERTAINTY IN THE TREATMENT OF BRONCHOGENIC CARCINOMA”
Yesterday in the Edifici Docent of MútuaTerrassa, Mr. Sergi Call Caja, consulting physician in the Thoracic Surgery Department of MútuaTerrassa University Hospital, defended his PhD thesis titled “Staging and restaging with maximum certainty in the treatment of bronchogenic carcinoma”. The project was led by Dr. Ramon Rami, clinical head of the HUMT Thoracic Surgery Department and president of the IASLC International Staging and Prognostic Factors Committee.

10/01/2017 - MÚTUATERRASSA UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL IS A PIONEER IN THE USE OF A NEW TOOL FOR DEFINING THE PROGNOSIS OF LUNG CANCER, A TOOL WHICH IS USED BY HOSPITALS ALL OVER THE WORLD.
The new guide was led by Dr. Ramon Rami, clinical head of the HUMT Thoracic Surgery Department and president of the IASLC International Staging and Prognostic Factors Committee.

20/12/2016 - THE CONFERENCES ORGANISED BY THE ETHICAL CARE COMMITTEE FOCUS ON THE BIOETHICAL IMPLICATIONS OF ASSISTED REPRODUCTIVE TECHNIQUES
On Tuesday 20 December, the MútuaTerrassa Ethical Care Committee will hold a conference titled “Assisted reproductive techniques: a bioethical revolution all in order” to discuss the changes these techniques entail not only in terms of medicine but also on a social and family level. It will be held in the Edifici Docent of MútuaTerrassa at 1:30pm.

15/12/2016 - THE SANT JOAN DE DÉU FOUNDATION OF MARTORELL RECEIVES INNOVATION AWARD IN MANAGEMENT FROM THE CATALAN UNION OF HOSPITALS
Awarded first prize in the efficiency and sustainability category and finalist in the management of professionals category
Yesterday afternoon during the 7th Innovation Awards in Management, the Catalan Union of Hospitals (UCH) awarded Sant Joan de Déu Foundation of Martorell with first prize for its project “Cardioprotected hospital” in the efficiency and sustainability category. Furthermore, the foundation was a finalist for its project “A single pre-operatory action based on a pre-anaesthesia consultation” in the management of professionals category. 16/12/2016 - THE CONFERENCE ON PRE-EXISTING DISEASES IN PREGNANT WOMEN WILL FOCUS ON MEDICAL DISORDERS DURING PREGNANCY
On Friday, 16 December, the HUMT Gynaecology and Obstetrics Department is organising a scientific conference on medical disorders during pregnancy in order to seek collaboration strategies between obstetric professionals and all other professionals who are involved in treating pregnant women with pre-existing diseases.

15/12/2016 - Activa’t 2016 award ceremony
On Wednesday, 14 December, the Edifici Docent of MútuaTerrassa will host the Activa’t award ceremony 2016. This programme has been promoted by the Half Marathon Sports Association of Terrassa (AEMMT) and MútuaTerrassa since 2007 and its campaign “Exercise, Health and Quality of Life” is aimed at fostering exercise, the improvement of health and quality of life.

12/12/2016 - New labour framework agreement for MútuaTerrassa
The new agreement was signed by 92% of worker representatives
Management of MútuaTerrassa has reached an agreement with the representatives of the company’s workers to establish a new labour framework for its professionals. This level was granted in recognition of the more than 60 initiatives MútuaTerrassa compiled in its sixth social commitment report for 2015
For the second year in a row, MútuaTerrassa has achieved the Global Compact Advanced, the highest reporting level, with the presentation of its sixth social commitment report for 2015. 01/12/2016 - MÚTUATERRASSA HOLDS ITS TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS CARD CONTEST ORGANISED BY THE MEDICAL AND SOCIAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT
The winner of this year’s contest was Les Arenes adult day care centre
For the 14th year in a row, the Medical and Social Services Department of MútuaTerrassa has organised its traditional Christmas card contest which awards the best Christmas cards made by the residents of the different adult day care centres and nursing and mental health homes managed by MútuaTerrassa Vallparadís Foundation. 29/11/2016 - MÚTUATERRASSA UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL MORBID OBESITY COMMITTEE ORGANISES A SESSION ON BARIATRIC SURGERY
The informational session, scheduled for Tuesday 29 November at the Edifici Docent of MútuaTerrassa, aims to provide candidates for bariatric surgery with in-depth information on their disease (morbid obesity) and on the consequences of having excess weight. It also encourages acquiring healthy lifestyle habits. Led by the HUMT Morbid Obesity Committee, which is composed of the General Surgery (Esophagogastric and Bariatric Surgery Unit), Psychology, Rehabilitation and Dietetics and Nutrition Departments.
