La Unidad de Medicina del Deporte (COTCAT sport) de Àptima Centre Clínic realiza una charla sobre enfermedades relacionadas con el deporte

El edificio docente de MútuaTerrassa acogió, el pasado miércoles 5 de julio, una conferencia organizada por la Unidad de Medicina del Deporte (COTCAT sport) de Àptima Centre Clínic centrada en las enfermedades relacionadas y derivadas del deporte.

Dr. Santiago Sabatés, co-director of COTCAT (Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology of Catalonia) and specialist in OTS and joint prosthesis surgery, Dr. José Salas, OTS specialist, in sports traumatology and ultrasound of the musculoskeletal system, and Mr. Joan Casadesús, advisor for medical specialists in sports medicine at Advanced Sports & Nutrition Lab.


Aimed at sports professionals, basically from the field of football, Dr. Sabatés spoke about sudden death in the young athlete and also referred to the mechanisms to avoid it. In this sense, the contributions of Dr. Sabatés made them in the name of Dr. Gonzalo Grazioli - renowned sports cardiologist who is part of COTCAT Sport - and come from an article recently published by him in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology under the title "Prevention of sudden death in adolescent athletes: incremental diagnostic value and cost-effectiveness of diagnostic test".


For his part, Dr. Sales addressed the musculotendinous lesions and referred to their diagnosis and treatment by ultrasound. Finally, Mr. Casadesus treated the food supplements and explained when it is necessary to take them and for what reasons.
